The main objective of the project is to support the macro-level environmental decision / policy making core activities of the Ministry of Nature and Environment (MNE) such as SEA, EIA, biodiversity conservation, etcetera.

A number of specific objectives have been formulated around the establishment of a so-called National Geo-Information Centre, within the MNE.

The project has been organized in four (4) specific components for which Project Working Groups (PWG) are established as follows:

  • PWG 1: Management tool of National Resources Management
  • PWG 2: Geographic Information Management
  • PWG 3: Decision support and Early Warning system for pasture land management
  • PWG 4: Human capacity strengthening.

Services provided by our staff and our partners within the assignment are as follows:
Project management, data collection, mapping, modeling, water quality & QA monitoring, river basin assessment, introduction of EIA practice, development of a monitoring, early warning and decision support system, stakeholder consultation, training, capacity building.
