Central Region Water Resources Sector Project, Vietnam |
The Central Region Water Resources Sector Project will be implemented in six provinces in the central region of Vietnam. The Project Preparatory Technical Assistance (PPTA) for the Central Region Water Resources Sector Project aims at preparing the sector project through:
- Preparing six water resources core projects to start the overall project. One project is prepared in each of the selected six provinces in Central Vietnam: Thanh Hao, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh); and
- Developing water investment strategies for the six provinces.
The objective of the ADB-loan to the Government of Vietnam for the project is to assist Vietnam in effectively addressing water and poverty related problem areas in six of the 14 coastal provinces in Central Vietnam.
Services rendered include:
- Overall project management;
- Water resources planning;
- Screening of potential sub-projects for inclusion in the sector project;
- Support to the counterpart in the preparation of full Feasibility Studies for up to six initial sub-projects in the sector project;
- Technical engineering, review of proposed and retained sub-projects;
- Economic analysis;
- Social impact assessment and resettlement and compensation assessment; and
- Project implementation plan.
