Feasibility study for irrigation modernisation

Royal Haskoning guided the technical elaboration of the modernisation and rehabilitation of the irrigation infrastructure, including reservoir dams, and prepared the Financial Management Plans for the respective Irrigation Management Companies.

Full Feasibility Studies have been made for the technical and managerial rehabilitation and modernisation of six irrigation schemes spread over Vietnam: i.e. Yen Lap and Cam Son in the North, Phu Ninh, Da Ban and Ke Go in the central region and Dau Tieng in the South of Vietnam. The study enhanced technical, socio-economic and agricultural aspects. Special attention was ad to the resettlement and compensation issue.

The results of the feasibility studies have been used for a USD 170 million loan negotiation between Vietnam and the World Bank for the investment in irrigation rehabilitation and modernisation in the respective irrigation schemes.
